Wendell went through a moment of chills in the 79′ of the challenge with Vizela, in the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup. After a rougher entry, the Brazilian side saw the yellow card and then saw João Pinheiro show him the red card, as if he had already been admonished twice.
A decision that caused some bewilderment to Wendell and those closest to him, but it turned out to be a mistake. Realizing what had happened, the referee immediately removed the red card and insisted that only the yellow card remained.
A lapse that still gave the FC Porto player a scare.
