Tiago Dantas arrived in Salonica on Thursday night, where he will undergo medical examinations to sign a contract with PAOK. The young Portuguese midfielder, who was on loan to Tondela last season, arrives at the Greek club on loan from Benfica and PAOK guarantees, at the end of the season, a two-way purchase option: four million for half the pass or seven million for the whole player’s rights.
In Salonica, Tiago Dantas will have his compatriot Filipe Soares as a teammate, assuming that this factor weighed in the decision. “It’s always good to have players of the same nationality in the team. I spoke with Filipe, he is my friend and we have played together for several years. It was important for my decision. I’m very excited to be coming to a great club and looking forward to playing at Toumba Stadium. I want to train myself and meet my new colleagues as soon as possible”, said Tiago Dantas to Sport24.
At PAOK there is also José Boto, former head of scouting of Benfica and currently with the same functions in the Greek team.
