Botafogo lost tonight, by 0-1, in the reception to Atlético Mineiro, in a game of the 17th round of the Brasileirão. It was the third consecutive defeat for Luís Castro’s team in the competition and the fifth in the last six games.
At Engenhão, after a goalless first half, the match was decided in the 55th minute. Argentinian Zaracho’s attempt to cross turned into a goal of beautiful effect for the Brazilian champions.
The home team, who in this match had, again, names known to Portuguese football fans – Saravia, Philipe Sampaio, Gustavo Sauer and Lucas Fernandes were starters, Lucas Piazón entered in the second half -, were unable to reverse the course of events. .. and still got a big scare.
In the final stretch of the match (90+6′), Keno introduced the ball into the goal of the carioca team, but the goal was disallowed due to an irregular position by the footballer from Galo.
