Max Hagmayr, manager of Valentino Lazaro, guaranteed by Benfica on the last day of the market, revealed that the Austrian full-back had other interested parties, but preferred the Luz club to continue his career.
“It wasn’t easy, there were two other clubs interested, besides Borussia Dortmund. We had to make the best decision for Valentino. He wanted to play regularly, especially in a team that was in the Champions League, to show his quality again. I would say that Benfica was the right choice,” said Max Hagmayr, speaking to the FC Inter News website.
The manager revealed that Benfica did not have the option of definitive purchase of the player’s rights, loaned by Inter Milan, but stressed: «^We think positive. O Tino will do everything to play and give his best. Benfica has followed him since he is 16-17 years old… They had already tried for his loan last season, so it’s good feeling.
