THE BALL – The team with the most goals in Europe (England)

Fulham, from the Championship (English second tier), is the team with the most goals scored in the European leagues, with 64 accurate shots in 25 games. The Germans from Bayern (61), the Dutch from Ajax (59), the English from Liverpool (55) and the Moldovans from Sheriff (55) follow, in a list that includes, in 9th place, Benfica (50 ).

Only in peripheral countries, whose championships have already been concluded (the seasons correspond to calendar years), were there teams with more goals: Klaksvik (99) and HB (87) from the Faroe Islands, Flora (85), Levadia (77 goals) and Paide (66) from Estonia, Dinamo Batumi (73) from Georgia, Molde (70) and Aalesund (68) from Norway and Rigas (65) from Estonia.

The biggest contributors to the 64 goals scored by the team led by the Portuguese Marco Silva in the second English League are the Serbian Aleksandar Mitrovic (27 goals in 24 games), the Welshman Harry Wilson (8/22), the Congolese Neeskens Kebano (7/23 ) and English of Portuguese origin Fábio Carvalho (5/15).

Fulham only failed to score in three Championship rounds: Blackpool (day 6, away), Derby County (19, home) and Sheffield United (23, home). In addition, they have four wins in 25 games: 6-2 against Bristol City (day 27, home), 7-0 against Reading (25, away), 7-0 against Blackburn Rovers (16, away) and 5-1 against Huddersfield (2, out).

The second team with the most goals scored in the Championship is Blackburn with 44, but only one rout (5-1 to Cardiff).

In the remaining competitions in which they participate, the cottagers scored three more goals in three games: 1-0 to Bristol City in the FA Cup and 2-0 to Birmingham in the League Cup, being eliminated from this competition by Leeds (0-0, 5-6 on penalties).

The London team benefits, however, from having many more games played than most other European teams (I and II Leagues), as they have already played 25 of the 46 games, while Sheriff (17 games), Benfica (18), Bayern (19 ), Dortmund (19), Ajax (19), Liverpool (21), Inter (21), Manchester City (22) and Volendam (22) are far from having the same matches played. Thus, Sheriff’s Moldovans, with 55 goals in 17 games, have the best goals average in Europe, with 3.23 goals per game, surpassing, among others, the 3.21 of Bayern’s Germans.

Benfica, with 2.78 goals per game, has the sixth best average of goals in Europe, in a list that also includes FC Porto (48 goals in 18 games), with 2.67 goals/game.
