According to the weekly newspaper Expresso, in this Friday’s edition, with a headline, the tax authorities suspect that SC Braga facilitated Benfica’s victory in a 2010 game, a process that is under the purview of the Public Ministry.
According to that publication, the suspicion lies in a link between a game between SC Braga and Benfica that year and a commission paid to a former manager of the Minho emblem, adding that an investigation is still ongoing at Britalar, a company owned by António Salvador that built the Seixal Internship Center.
In the year in question, Benfica faced, always at Luz, SC Braga, three times, they won on all occasions, scored a total of four goals and did not concede any: 1-0, Luisão’s goal (44′) to 24th round of the 2009/2010 League (March 27); 1-0, goal by Carlos Martins (73′) on the 7th round of the 2010/2011 League (3 October) and 2-0, goals by Saviola (38′) and Aimar (90+3′), in a match of the 4th round of the Portuguese Cup (12 December).
