Without a club after ending his contract with Manchester United, Edinson Cavani, 35, has been the protagonist of an authentic soap opera in recent days. Boca Juniors advanced to sign him and it was even taken for granted that the Uruguayan forward would arrive in Buenos Aires to sign a contract.
Excited by the news, many supporters of the popular club went to the airport in Buenos Aires, as well as several journalists, but… Cavani did not appear.
At the last minute, the forward made it known to Juan Román Riquelme, manager of Boca Juniors, that his intention, after all, is to continue playing in Europe (allegedly it will be in Spain, for Villarreal) and, therefore, he did not accept the contract that proposed, valid for 18 months.
