THE BALL – Son of Abdul-Jabbar convicted of violent stabbing (NBA)

The son of basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was sentenced to 6 months in prison for stabbing a neighbor in Southern California with a hunting knife. Adam Abdul-Jabbar, 29, stabbed his 60-year-old neighbor several times. The reason will be in a discussion about waste management in the neighborhood, according to the prosecutors.

Adam Abdul-Jabbar was convicted on Tuesday after pleading guilty to three counts: assault with a lethal weapon, unlicensed possession of a hunting weapon and for causing serious bodily harm to the victim, according to the Orange District Attorney County.

Abdul-Jabbar settled with the judge and the sentence was suspended until 7 January. It will thus have the possibility to request house arrest, according to the Public Ministry.

The prosecutors had asked for a higher sentence and opposed the possibility that the aggressor would serve his sentence at home.

“This man nearly bled to death in front of the doors of the emergency rooms after being violently stabbed, such violence also resulted in a fractured skull,” said Attorney Todd Spitzer.
