After two seasons, Sílvio ends his contract with V. Guimarães. The player said goodbye this Sunday after having made a few minutes in the 5-0 rout against Gil Vicente, a game that took place behind closed doors.
Sílvio signed for Vitória two years ago, after V. Setúbal went down to the non-professional championships, but he didn’t have a successful passage in Guimarães. In 2020/21 he played 12 games, this season just two: 12 minutes in April against Paços de Ferreira and 13 minutes yesterday.
In the message published on instagram, the full-back mentions that he has affection for the club, but leaves a message for the coaching staff led by Pepa: «I feel 100% (…) If I didn’t play what I wanted, it was just a technical choice. »
Here’s the message:
“What a fantastic club.
I would have liked to have helped more on the field but unfortunately it was not possible.
Thank you for the way they welcomed me when I arrived here. I quickly felt at home, I quickly made great friends, and that’s why it’s so hard for me to say goodbye.
I wish the club the best of luck in the world, may it have peace (often it is the only person it needs) to obtain the intended results.
Finally, a little aside to clear up some doubts.
I’ve been feeling 100% for a long time. If I didn’t play what I wanted, it was just a technical choice.
This option that we always have to respect, be resilient and not accept!
A big hug to all Victorians.
See you on the lawns!”
