Galatasaray triumphed in the visit to Antalyaspor (1-0), in the first round of the Turkish championship. Hired from FC Porto, Sérgio Oliveira was a starter in the Istanbul team, as was Harris Seferovic, who arrived from Benfica.
Luiz Adriano (45+4′) missed a penalty that could have put the home team ahead. And as those who don’t score, suffer, Bafetimbi Gomis (90′) guaranteed Galatasaray’s victory in the final moments.
With this result, Galatasaray joins Trabzonspor, Adana Demirspor, Alanyaspor and Besiktas as the teams that started the new season on the right foot.
