Ovidiu Hategan was the referee appointed by UEFA to referee Benfica-Bayern, Wednesday (20 hours) of the third round of group E of the Champions League.
The Romanian referee whistled in 2018/19, a Benfica-Galatasaray (0-0), for the Europa League. In September, it was the referee of Atlético Madrid-FC Porto (0-0) who opened the dragons’ participation in group B.
The assistants will be Radu Ghinguleac and Sebastian Gheorghe, with Marcel Birsan as the 4th referee. Two Dutchmen will be at the VAR: Pol van Boekel and Jochem Kamphuis.
