Sassuolo drew against Roma (2-2), in a game on the 25th round of the Italian championship. Rui Patrício and Sérgio Oliveira were part of the initial options of José Mourinho, who added the third consecutive game without winning.
The match even started well for the team from the Italian capital, with Tammy Abraham (45+1′) converting a penalty before the break. However, Sassuolo managed the turnaround in the second half, with an own goal from Smalling (47′), which left Rui Patrício badly in the picture, and a goal from Hamed Traoré (73′), who had already been involved in the first goal.
Until the end, the home team was still reduced to 10 by the accumulation of yellow cards by Gian Marco Ferrari (78′) and it was at that moment that Roma reached the tie, with Cristante (90+4′) ahead of the whole people in a corner.
With this result, the Romans are in seventh place with 40 points, two behind rival Lazio, the first team in the qualifying zone for European competitions. Sassuolo is in 12th place, with 30 points.
