Pepe was one of the players sent off by João Pinheiro at the end of FC Porto-Sporting, at Dragão. The Dragons’ central defender engaged in a heated exchange of words with Hugo Viana, Sporting’s sporting director, and saw the red card. In the available television images, it is possible to see a small collision between the two, without realizing whether or not there was physical aggression that escaped the images.
Like Bruno Tabata, who pushed Luís Gonçalves, Pepe could be punished for between two months and two years, under article 145 of the League’s disciplinary regulation, which provides for such suspension in cases of aggression against sports officials. Everything will depend, of course, on what João Pinheiro, referee of the classic, writes in the report: if he mentions aggression, then this article can apply.
