THE BALL – PSV player is the lock desired by Schmidt (Benfica)

Ibrahim Sangaré is the striker desired by Roger Schmidt and the eagles have already started talks with PSV in order to understand the conditions for the signing of the Ivorian midfielder.

Signed by the Eindhoven club from Toulouse in 2020, for €9.5 million, Sangaré currently has a market value of €16 million (according to the specialized website Transfermarkt), but the Dutch can even ask for more given the player’s recent valuation of 24 years.

Benfica has, however, strong competition: recent news in England shows the interest of Tottenham and Arsenal in Sangaré, in addition to Leicester, the emblem that faced PSV in the quarter-finals of the Conference League.

Here comes the Roger Schmidt factor. Having to choose – and if the Reds’ proposal satisfies the Dutch’s pretensions -, Ibrahim Sangaré will ponder between a possible exit to the Premier League or accompany the coach on the way to Lisbon.

The Reds plan to make many changes to the squad to meet Roger Schmidt’s wishes and Sangaré is a player that the German coach considers essential.
