Asked about the recent praise from Pep Guardiola’s coach (see associated news), Rúben Amorim recalled that he is experiencing a delicate situation at Sporting and that he will do everything to improve his relationship with the fans.
«It’s always good to hear praise, but my reality goes through white handkerchiefs from the fans and a season far below expectations. I don’t have many illusions – it’s the results that dictate everything, what happens around the game doesn’t matter», he began by saying at a press conference.
On whether the praise of the renowned Manchester City coach, as well as the tie against Arsenal for the Europa League, can open the doors to him to work in England, the leonine coach shot:
“I don’t want to open doors to England. I already had some contacts, but I’m very happy here and I’m not looking for anything. What I want is not to disappoint my fans who a week ago showed displeasure with the coach. I don’t want to open any other doors.”
