Miguel Leal was announced as the new coach of Cova da Piedade. The Piedense club had already announced, this Monday, the departure of Mário Nunes from the technical command after the defeat (2-3) with Estoril last Saturday.
It is, therefore, a return of the coach, 55 years old, to a home he knows well, since Miguel Leal had already coached Cova da Piedade in 2018/2019. The mission is clear: to avoid the division descent.
It should be remembered that the Piedense emblem, which has not won for 7 games, is in 16th place in League 2, with 23 points, as many as Oliveirense and Vilafranquense – Ribatejanos have one game less. At the bottom of the table, FC Porto B and Varzim both have 21 points.
Miguel Leal’s debut at the Cova da Piedade bench is scheduled for next Sunday (16 hours), at Benfica B.
