Sporting beat SC Horta, by 34-21, in a match of the 14th round of the Placard Handball 1 Championship, held this Wednesday night, at the Fernando Tavares Pavilion, where Boa Hora plays.
Between Lisbon and Azoreans there was, from the outset, an adventure that forced a change of time and location: initially scheduled for 8 pm (it would even have direct broadcast on A BOLA TV), at the Adelino Moura Pavilion, in Almada (not could be held, as would be natural, at the João Rocha Pavilion, as Sporting’s basketball team played there as well this Wednesday), was eventually changed to 10 pm and to the Fernando Tavares Pavilion, in due to the poor condition of the floor of the Adelino Moura Pavilion, in Almada.
Once the logistical issues had been overcome, the duel actually ended up being held without further incidents, and, on the field, Sporting confirmed the theoretical favoritism that was pointed out to them, winning by 13 goals difference. At half-time, it should be noted, the lions were already winning by 14-9, increasing even more the partial over the second 30 minutes.
With this triumph, Sporting remains unbeatable in the competition and has its 13th consecutive triumph (39 points). In this way, the green and white emblem remains at the top of the standings, with three points more than FC Porto (which has one game less). And, it should be noted, lions and dragons will measure forces this Saturday (18 hours), at Dragão Arena, in the city of Invicta.
SC Horta maintains 13th place, with 22 points, but could be overtaken by ABC, which is three points away, but Braga are two games behind.
