Sporting’s interest in Marcus Edwards, reported by A BOLA first hand in the summer and, once again, reignited in this reopening of the market and reported exclusively yesterday by our newspaper, has legs to walk.
The lion has the possibility to wait until the end of the month but yesterday, taking advantage of the presence of Frederico Varandas in the north of the country, he continued with the conversations by the 23-year-old English winger, now directly with Vitória de Guimarães, even for the interest of the Guimarães emblem in Bruno Gaspar and by the opening of the lion in moving up the stop.
Remember that Marcus Edwards was trained at Tottenham, the English emblem that placed the winger in Guimarães, keeping half of the rights, and that, in the summer, did not hinder the move from Guimarães to Alvalade. Now, it is assumed that the English maintain the same position, that is, putting themselves on the sidelines of the direct negotiation between Sporting and Vitória but keeping their share of Edwards who, remember, has a €50m release clause.
Sporting, as A BOLA reported yesterday, was willing to advance with 6 million euros for the signing of the winger, half of the amount that Vitória asked for in the summer to release Marcus Edwards and which led the lion to look for alternatives, namely Sarabia , occasion deal in the transfer of Nuno Mendes to Paris Saint-Germain.
But yesterday, according to data collected by A BOLA, he hinted that he could raise the stakes, by about one to two million euros, to seal a deal by the end of the month.
