Alluding to the period of uncertainty the club went through, while Laporta decided whether Koeman should continue or not, the Dutch coach was clear: “There must always be sincerity. When you, as a club, let things go and there is no certainty about the coach’s future, there is speculation. And if you’re the coach, then things aren’t pleasant.”
At the end of the contract, and after news has already come out that the Barça Board is preparing to present a proposal for renewal, the coach acknowledged that he wants to remain on the bench at Camp Nou: «I’m open to stay, I’m giving- me well. Thanks to me, this club has a future.”
