According to eavesdropping on the Red Card process, businessman Jorge Mendes spoke to Hugo Viana, Sporting’s sporting director, in April 2020, due to funds related to the transfer of Bruno Fernandes to Manchester United.
In a phone call made on April 16, 2020, quoted by this Sunday’s edition of CM, the businessman reminded Hugo Viana that he was helping to advance Bruno Fernandes’ funds for England. Nor did he want any of the first advance, but wanted part of the second to go to him to at least offset the VAT he had to pay. They agree to speak with Frederico Varandas and say that if Sporting does not pay Jorge Mendes in the next installment, the businessman will stop working with Sporting.
The following day, Jorge Mendes spoke to the president of Sporting, said he needed to receive and complained about the behavior of Francisco Salgado Zenha, SAD administrator of the Lions for the financial area.
