João Victor no longer runs away from Benfica. Yesterday, the eagles secured the signing of the central defender who was also coveted by FC Porto but who, after all, heads to Luz to reinforce the squad under Roger Schmidt.
The deal between Benfica and Cotinthians was closed in the early hours of the morning in São Paulo, after a lightning trip by the sporting director of the club da Luz with the aim of closing the signing of the 23-year-old player, long referred to by the eagles and in the in recent weeks heavily harassed by other European clubs – in addition to FC Porto, Sevilla had also shown interest in the Brazilian centre-back in recent days.
