Helton Leite is leaving Benfica after two and a half seasons with an eagle on his chest, a period in which he made 34 appearances, just one this season, against Caldas, for the Portuguese Cup. The 32-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper leaves Luz permanently to sign for Antalyaspor, currently ranked 15th in the Turkish league, where he will meet compatriot Luiz Adriano.
Only with Jorge Jesus, in the 2020/2021 season, Helton Leite was a regular starter, adding 26 matches at that time.
BOLA knows that the agreement between Benfica and Antalyaspor is closed, with the reds keeping 50% of the player’s rights, and the goalkeeper will travel to Turkey this Thursday, in order to complete the essential medical examinations for later sign contract.
This will be the third departure of the main squad in this January market, after Diogo Gonçalves (Copenhagen) and Rodrigo Pinho (Coritiba). In the opposite direction, Casper Tengstedt (ex-Rosenborg) and Andreas Schjelderup (ex-Nordsjaelland) entered.
