THE BALL – Heavy fine for FC Porto, Benfica also punished (UEFA)

FC Porto was fined 50,000 euros for delaying the start or restart of the second leg of the Europa League play-off with Lazio, played on 24 February.

In the document released by UEFA, it is also confirmed that the process brought against the coach of the Dragons, Sérgio Conceição, for the same reason was “closed”.

Benfica will pay a fine of three thousand euros for the use of pyrotechnic effects by fans in the match played at Estádio da Luz on February 23, against Ajax, referring to the first leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League.

Luz also received a fine of 2,500 euros for violating the health protocol (use of masks and disinfectant gel) during the Youth League game with Midtjylland, played on March 2.

That match also resulted in a game of suspension for João Neves, who was sent off for violent entry in the victory (3-2) over the Danes.
