Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that it has decided to remove Argentine superstar Diego Armando Maradona from the well-known FIFA 22.
“This decision is linked to a legal dispute with a third party, so we have to suspend the presence of Diego Maradona in the FIFA Ultimate Team Packs, in the Ultimate Draft and in the Soccer Aid World XI team”, it reads. EA also said that it hopes to get Maradona back in the game in the future.
The problem has to do with the former player’s image rights: an Argentine court ruled that EA negotiated these rights with the wrong entity.
