PSV Eindhoven, team eliminated by Benfica in the play-off for access to the Champions League, was this Sunday destroyed at Philips Stadion by rival Feyenoord by 4-0, in a game of the 5th round of the Dutch league.
With Portuguese international Bruma in the eleventh minute until the 72nd minute, when German coach Roger Schmidt replaced him with Madueke, the locals were already losing in added time, through veteran Jens Toornstra, served by Norwegian Marcus Pedersen.
Schmidt tried to react and replaced Gakpo with Carlos Vinicius, a Brazilian forward loaned by the Reds, in the 61st minute, but the result increased. At 71, Colombian Luis Sinisterra assisted Bryan Linssen for 2-0 and Toornstra scored twice at 85, now with a pass from Cyriel Dessers.
The rout was confirmed in added time, by Dessers, after the second assist of the day for Sinisterra.
Arne Slot, coach of the Rotterdam emblem, did not use Portuguese João Carlos Teixeira, who watched the match from the bench.
PSV are late and hand over the isolated lead to Ajax, Sporting’s Champions rivals, now with 13 points, one more than Eindhoven’s team. Feyenoord are now ranked fifth with 9.
