Belgian attacking midfielder / winger Charly Musonda, 25, who this summer ended his contract with Chelsea, a club he had been linked to since 2012 (but for the first team he only recorded seven games and one goal in 2017/2018), returned to Belgium to test in Zulte Waregem. He even convinced the Belgian club officials, who offered him a contract, but he left due to alleged family problems and… disappeared.
The player, who was a great promise of Belgian football (during his connection with Chelsea he was on loan at Betis, Celtic and Vitesse), has now reappeared, several days later, in statements to the sports daily Marca. “I am fine. Over the years I’ve learned that people talk a lot without knowing the truth, but that’s not my problem.”
Charly Musonda guarantees that he loves football and that he does not give up on being successful, despite the many problems with injuries in recent years. “Soon I will be back on the pitch doing what I love most. Little by little I will build my way back to the top and maybe it will be in Spain. You can keep talking, the market only closes on August 31 and I still have 10 years of football left: two to prepare and eight at the highest level. I am calm and I have faith.”
The player showed up and is fine, but the mysterious disappearance remains unexplained.
