In Everton’s debut, signed from Benfica, Flamengo thrashed Juventude by 4-0 in a match on the 18th round of the Brasileirão, with the curiosity that all the goals were scored with a header.
´Cebolinha´ entered at half-time, when the team was already winning 3-0: Pedro (7 and 13 minutes) and Everton Ribeiro (18) scored. The winger then assisted for the 4-0, by Lazaro.
This was the most attended game this season in the Brazilian championship: more than 65,000 people went to the Mané Garrincha stadium, in Brasília, to see the game.
Coach Dorival, who succeeded Paulo Sousa, praised Everton’s debut. “It had a quiet debut, it still can and will grow a lot. It’s a matter of time, development and work. It’s been almost 90 days without playing and it’s natural to feel oscillations. We will give you chances to win minutes whenever the game lets you.”
Flamengo has 27 points and occupies seventh place.
