THE BALL – English clubs look for satellites in Europe (England)

Brexit created constraints to British football. Signings from English clubs are now subject to stricter work visas, as European players are required to pass the same criteria as non-community players.

In order to get around this, the Sports world reveals that several Premier League (first tier) and Championship (second tier) clubs are now looking for several satellite clubs in continental Europe. The goal? Facilitate the arrival of new players, namely minors.

As players under the age of 18 cannot sign for clubs in England, the alternative is to have them play for clubs at the top levels of European football up to the age of 21, facilitating the acquisition of a work visa and consequent incorporation into the Premier League roster.

The Catalan publication advances that Liverpool has already lined up the new satellite, unlike Manchester United, which is in the research phase. Manchester City will use the emblems associated with the City group: Girona (second division of Spain), Troyes (first division of France) and Lommel (second division of Belgium).
