After securing Mario Gotze’s competition, which was intended by Benfica, Eintracht Frankfurt will be interested in «fishing» in Luz for the hiring of Julian Weigl.
According to Frankfurter Rundschau, the German midfielder will be interested in leaving Benfica in order to have more chances to join the German national team.
Benfica signed Weigl from Dortmund for 20 million euros, the player has a contract until 2024 and a release clause of 100 million euros.
The German newspaper reveals that this clause is not representative of the real value of the player, because it recalls that Luca Waldschmidt also had a release clause of 88 million euros and left for Wolfsburg for 12 million euros.
