Professional clubs around the world paid 9.12 billion euros in player transfers this season, which is the second highest amount ever, according to the Football Observatory (CIES).
The record continues to ‘belong’ to the 2019/2020 season, with 9.7 billion. Even so, the winter window for this season reached a new high.
