Erling Haaland has scored 24 goals in 19 games this season, so it’s not unreasonable that he could break the record two seasons ago, at Borussia Dortmund, in which he scored 41 goals in 41 games.
As for what he can achieve in his career, team-mate Kevin de Bruyne doesn’t hesitate to put him on a level like Ronaldo’s, reporting that the Norwegian could reach 800 goals. The two are getting along in the best possible way – the Belgian already has double the assists compared to last season – and this was already seen in the first match after the end of the World Cup, with De Bruyne assisting Haaland for the first against Liverpool to the League Cup.
“The Erling is not that different from the others. He is a normal footballer, he doesn’t take himself too seriously, but he takes his profession seriously. He loves to score goals, maybe this distinguishes him from the others », thus making the risky prediction, provided that the player keeps fit and avoids injuries: « It’s difficult to compare him with other forwards in the same position. Some are more physical, others faster. He is so young (22 years old) and so obsessed with goals that his number should go up: he already has around 200 goals, he will probably pass 600, 700 or 800 if he is not injured and does what he does now.”
