David Brooks, 24, who represents Bournemouth, England Championship, has turned to social media to announce that he has been diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The Welsh international admits that he received the news with shock, as did his family.
“I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, consultants and staff who have been treating me for their professionalism, care and understanding during this period. I want to thank everyone at the Welsh Federation, because without the prompt attention of the medical team, we might not have detected the disease. I would also like to thank Bournemouth for all their support and assistance this past week,” Brooks wrote.
