Benfica, by beating the local emblem in Ovar, by 86-76, is the first club qualified for the ‘final four’ of the Portuguese Basketball Cup – this Saturday CAB Madeira-Lustânia and Illiabum-Imortal will be played, both at 4 pm, and on Sunday the Póvoa-Sporting CD takes place at 3.30 pm.

After elimination in the semi-finals of the Hugo dos Santos Cup at the hands of Vareiros, this time the national champion did not hesitate, despite the approach of Ovarense in the last period up to four points of difference, 71-75, 73-77 and 76- 80. Only now Norberto Alves’ team didn’t tremble and secured the triumph.

João Betinho Gomes, with 23 points and nine rebounds, was the main figure of the match (and for Benfica). Jacoby Armstrong, with 19 points, was Ovarense’s most productive player.
