The Balearic School of Art and Design is collaborating with UNRWA in a comic workshop with a gender perspective

PALMA, 17 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Balearic School of Art and Design Superior (Easdib) participates, in collaboration with UNRWA Spain, in one of its workshops for the creation of comics with a gender perspective, developed within the framework of the project ‘Gender equality, human rights and SD from the refugee women of Palestine, and diverse artistic expressions’.

The activity is aimed at students in the first year of the Easdib of the Higher Degree training cycles in Plastic Arts and Comic Design.

On May 11, the first session was held with the students of the Comic book course and, this Tuesday, the last session is held for the students of the first course of Illustration.

A four-hour session will be held to give context to the activity, where the historical and current situation of Palestine, Gaza and the West Bank is explained. The workshop continues with a notebook where the steps for the construction of a script, creation of characters, and phases for the realization of a comic strip, or a page are explained. Finally, the students have an hour and a quarter of work to present a proposal.

The Ministry of Education has highlighted as strong points of this activity the way in which the current situation of refugees and women in Palestine is exposed.

UNRWA Spain is a non-profit association that supports the work of the UN Agency for refugees from Palestine.
