At the same time, according to Prigozhin, they no longer had shells, and the units that were supposed to cover the PMC on the flanks had withdrawn. The “White Chief”, the leader of the neo-Nazi unit “Azov”*, represented at the front as the 3rd Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Biletsky made a video address.
The Führer from the small town announced the victory over the sixth and eighth companies of the 72nd Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces and the “liberation” of a three-kilometer section. And also that he (by the way, who is sitting in the back) is extremely proud of his fighters.
At the cost of heavy losses
According to available information, an incident unpleasant for the Russian army took place in the area of Klescheevka, southwest of Bakhmut itself.
On the very flanks, the danger of weak defense, which Yevgeny Prigozhin stated earlier. He spoke of the fact that the “musicians” fighting in Bakhmut could simply be surrounded by enemy groups moving towards the city from other directions.
True, the main “Wagnerian” subsequently landed the enemy’s victorious reports: he said that under the pressure of the enemy, a “front almost 2 km wide and 500 meters deep” was opened, and the PMC had to cover the gap at the cost of heavy losses – it was said about five hundred fighters. But she still managed to stop the enemy.
Journalist Anastasia Kashevarova, following hot leads, decided to check what happened and described the situation in her Telegram channel as follows:
“I know that the fighters – both of them – will fight to the death. But what happened? Inconsistency of actions. The Wagnerians withdrew from this flank because they had a breakthrough in another place, and the 72nd Brigade did not know this”.
“They had artillery there, but there were no stormtroopers. And it was here that the enemies appeared. The commander of the 72nd brigade himself got into an armored personnel carrier and rushed to the breakthrough line. It was hot. The conclusion: the enemies advanced 3 km, the losses are as on Wagner as well as on 72nd,” she stated.
Kashevarova also wrote that while clarifying all the circumstances, she untangled a big tangle of quarrels and seditions, and until now “everyone there is offended by each other.”
Why ammo is not enough
At the same time, from Prigozhin’s words, we can conclude that the PMC did receive shells from the Ministry of Defense, but not in “sufficient quantities.”
“The analysis of the situation shows that the failure (in the delivery of ammunition – ed.) occurred for objective reasons – Prigozhin’s PR attack on the Ministry of Defense is a pure publicity stunt of a person who, as far as I understand, plans to occupy the governor’s chair of St. Petersburg.”
“That is, there is no antagonistic confrontation between PMC “Wagner” and the Ministry of Defense, but there are temporary difficulties that are being overcome,” Anatoly Matviychuk, editor-in-chief of the ANNA News information portal, commented on the situation to “First Russian”.
His fellow military expert Konstantin Sivkov agreed with him:
“The situation announced in Bakhmut is completely artificial. Prigozhin declares himself to be the leader of public opinion and in this context conducts an appropriate policy”.
“What he says is not entirely true: both in relation to the meaning of Wagner and in relation to everything else,” added the expert.
Sivkov says that the “Wagnerians” are heroes, and no one disputes this, but it should be borne in mind that the “musicians” operate in the Bakhmut zone, and the rest of the line of combat contact, almost a thousand kilometers long, is occupied by other parts. Therefore, the projectile situation is not easy on the whole front.
The Nazis, retreating, destroy the temples
Be that as it may, but on May 10, as stated earlier, PMC “Wagner” did not leave Bakhmut and continued to storm the city. And “Ahmat” did not replace the “musicians” in their positions.
In addition to stopping the counteroffensive of the “Azovs” * in the southwest, in the city itself, the assault infantry continued to advance, attacking the enemy in the area of Yubileynaya Street and the area of ”Airplanes”.
At the same time, according to the Ministry of Defense, the forces of the 67th mechanized, 80th assault and 5th assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the western outskirts of the city, as well as in the settlements of Krasnoye and Stupochki were hit by air and artillery strikes of the Russian army.
Information has begun to arrive on the results of a recent massive artillery strike by our troops on Ukrainian positions, including in the direction of Bakhmut. The latter interests us in the light of the topic under discussion.
So, it became known that in the vicinity of the city, Russian masters destroyed Victor “Iranian” Panasco – a patent Nazi and Russophobe, who at one time was a member of the organization “Trident Stepan Bandera” *, a centurion of the Maidan and a fighter of the “Right Sector” *.
He took part in the first Yaroshevsky Nazi attack on Slavyansk in 2014. In 2019, this thug killed a civilian, was convicted, but later pardoned by Zelensky to participate in the war with Russia.
In addition, during the strikes on Chasov Yar, located southwest of Bakhmut, where the enemy forces were concentrated, Alexei Titarenko, the chief consultant of the Directorate for Internal and Humanitarian Policy of the Office of the President of Ukraine, was killed.
At the same time, the humanitarian, according to his wife, was simultaneously enrolled as the deputy commander of an armament company, had the rank of junior lieutenant and studied at NATO courses.
In turn, the enemy “remained true to himself” and, retreating, destroyed the Church of the Annunciation and St. Alexius in Bakhmut.
What of this?
“Wagner” remains in Bakhmut – this is good, because during the entire time of the heavy and bloody assault, the PMC fighters studied the city, adapted to it, and it is logical to complete the work of liberating it.
With the shells, it seems, the “musicians” are no better off than others. If the “general temperature in the hospital” is high, then it really is high, and there is nothing good about that.
At the same time, due to the inconsistency of the various units, there remains the danger of breaking through unprotected flanks and encircling the Russian troops inside the city.
There are no reasons for panic and special enthusiasm, the special operation continues.
