– For many months, we had a clear signal of a recession in the US – says Michał Stajniak, XTB analyst in the Money.pl program. What is it about? About the so-called inverted bond yield curve, which is one of the darkest terms in the world economy. what does it mean? In a healthy market, bond yields (that is, the rate of return on lending money to governments around the world) should rise: the longer the maturity, the higher the yield. Therefore, 2-year bonds should have lower rates of return than, for example, 10-year or 30-year bonds. When this ratio is reversed, the market may fear a crash. Inversion predicted most of the accidents abroad very well. – We also have the highest interest rates in several years. Looking at these factors, one cannot be optimistic – he argues.
