The baby of the vaccinated against K-19 was born with …

The baby of a Turkish woman vaccinated against COVID-19 was born with antibodies, the Turkish newspaper “Daily Sabah” reported, quoted by Nova TV.

Zeynep Aslı Kaplan, who works at the maternity clinic at Ankara Hospital, was vaccinated with two doses of the Chinese vaccine KoronaVak as part of the medics’ vaccination.

Kaplan received the first dose in the 29th week of gestation and the second in the 33rd week. The woman gave birth 20 days ago, in the 38th week of her pregnancy.

Kaplan told the Turkish news agency IHA that tests have confirmed the presence of antibodies in the newborn. The Turk also said that there are antibodies in her breast milk and now they are monitoring whether they will be passed on to her newborn son.

The clinic’s chief physician, Prof. Yozlem Moraloglu Tekin, said they had begun collecting data on the vaccination of pregnant health workers who had already given birth.

She said they were aware of the known data on the use of Moderna and Pfizer vaccines during pregnancy and lactation, but added that more information was needed. “We turned to the health ministry to conduct the study,” the doctor added.
