The performance of Azerbaijani rowers at the XXXI Summer Universiade of students organized in Chengdu, China was remembered with a successful result. SIA was informed about this by the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation.
Bahman Nasiri, competing in a one-man academic rowing boat at a distance of 2 thousand meters, won the right to compete in the “A” final by finishing the qualification and semi-final stages in the first place. Nasiri also performed confidently in the decisive march. Our athlete fought for the championship until the end. In the end, the winners were determined by photo finish. B. Nasiri took the third place with a small margin and won the bronze medal.
Ziya Mammadzade, who fought in the same category in light weight, showed the third result in the “B” final.
