3. Average Temperature of Pluto
Pluto is a very difficult planet to predict because it is so far away. However, this long distance clearly means that everyone can measure the temperature on the surface.
The average temperature on the surface of Pluto can reach less than 232 degrees Celsius. The warmest temperature there will only drop by 10 degrees, that is minus 232 to 242 degrees Celsius.
This is what leaves some parts covered in ice. Structurally, Pluto is almost like the moon, which is rocks.
The extremely low temperature means that some of the rocks on Pluto are covered in ice.
4. Have an Atmosphere
Pluto’s atmosphere appears to be distinctly different from Earth’s, especially in thickness. Pluto’s atmosphere is mostly composed of nitrogen and small amounts of carbon monoxide and methane.
However, the atmosphere is still thin and therefore it is still dangerous if foreign objects enter the atmosphere.
5. There are 5 Satellites
Pluto also has its own satellite orbiting it. Each natural satellite has a different gravitational force making it something unique.
Pluto’s five natural satellites include Charon, Nix, Hydra, Kerberos, and Styx. They have their own orbits around Pluto.
However, it is still being debated whether there is a possibility that Pluto could have more natural satellites.
