The average wage in the Czech Republic in the third quarter of this year rose by 5.1 percent year on year to 35,402 crowns. Employees thus took CZK 1,716 gross more than a year ago. In real terms, ie taking into account inflation, wages rose by 1.7 percent. The Czech Statistical Office (CSO) informed about it on Friday. Compared to the second quarter, seasonally adjusted average wage growth was 5.8 percent.

The median wage for the period from the beginning of July to the end of September was CZK 31,183. It was 5.1 percent higher year-on-year. The median is in the middle of wage values, so half of the wage values are lower than the median and the other half higher.

However, the unemployment rate in the Czech Republic is also growing. After falling to 3.7 percent in October, it rose again to 3.8 percent in November this year.
