The average price of electricity on Thursday on European energy exchanges fell sharply to 344.35 euros per megawatt-hour from today’s peak from 409.69 euros per MWh, while in Bulgaria it fell by 18% to 345.67 points, falling from the historic peak from 421.59 euros per MWh.
This is shown by the data of the energylive.cloud platform, quoted by BNR.
The reduction in energy prices is due to today’s known reduction in the price of natural gas after the strong price increase on Tuesday, as well as the forecasts for milder winter weather in the coming days around and after the Christmas holidays.
In the segment “Day ahead” with delivery on Thursday (December 23) the highest electricity prices were reported in France (from 416.44 euros per MWh), followed by Switzerland (403.19 euros), Portugal and Spain EUR 383.67 each) and Belgium (EUR 378.32).
The lowest for tomorrow is the price of electricity in Poland (218.13 euros per MWh), followed by the Czech Republic (294.16 euros), Slovakia (294.90 euros), Germany (300.73 euros), the Netherlands (333, 06 euros), Hungary (324.36 euros) and Bulgaria (345.67 euros per MWh).
In Bulgaria, the price of electricity in the segment “Day Ahead” (for December 23) fell by 18% to 345.67 euros per megawatt-hour, or 676.07 levs per MWh, after the price for today jumped by as much as 23.1 % to a record 421.59 euros (or a record 824.55 levs per MWh), according to data from the Bulgarian Independent Energy Exchange (IBEX). Thus, only within a day the price decreased by BGN 148.
In the IBEX market segment “within the day”, however, the weighted average electricity price rose to BGN 903.62 per MWh on Wednesday (December 22nd), with the largest volumes of traded electricity taking place in a record price range between 954 and 1031 BGN per megawatt hour.
From the beginning of the year the average price of electricity in our country is 108.49 euros (212.19 levs) per megawatt hour, and from the beginning of December – 249.09 euros (487.18 levs), according to data from the platform energylive.cloud .
