The availability of the Covid-19 vaccine will increase from Monday

In response to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on the requirements during the emergency and the growing interest of the population to receive vaccines against Covid-19, the possibilities of receiving the vaccine against Covid-19 will be expanded from Monday, said Inga Vasiljeva, representative of the National Health Service (NSS) Vaccination Project Division.

She pointed out that vaccination will be continued closer to people’s daily lives in shopping centers. Several vaccination points will continue to operate without changing location, some points will be moved at the entrance or outside the shopping centers, providing vaccination at mobile points. Some points will be closed, but alternative locations have been found, which will also start operating this week.

In Riga, the vaccination points will continue to work in the shopping centers “Galerija Centrs”, “Rīga Plaza”, “Ikea”, “Dole”, “Saga” and the vaccination point in “Top Valdlauči” will continue to work without changes.

Vaccination points at the entrance will be moved to “Imanta Market” and “Acropolis”, where from Monday there will be not only an outdoor vaccination tent, but later also mobile points.

The vaccination point at the Alfa shopping center will be closed on October 11, and all records will be transferred to the Jugla Medical Center. From October 12, the mobile point in the “Alfas” parking lot will start operating. The vaccination point located in “Domina” will also be closed on Monday. Instead, from October 12, there will be a point at the store “Maxima” inside the shopping center. However, the Origo vaccination point will no longer operate indoors. It is planned to open several mobile points in the Station Square in the coming days.

At the same time, the vaccination point in the shopping center “Galerija Rīga” is closed.

In Liepāja, the vaccination points will continue to work in Liepāja Pētertirg unchanged, but the vaccination will be moved to other premises in the shopping center “XL Sala Liepāja”. The NSA Vaccination Project Department will also inform you about the location of a specific vaccination point in the supermarket.

The vaccination point in Madona supermarket “Konzums” will not work on October 11 and will be moved to other premises. In this case, too, the NSA Vaccination Project Department will still inform you of the exact location.

In Daugavpils, the vaccination points “Ditto nams”, “Solo centrs” and “Maxima” on Strādnieku Street will work without changes. The vaccination point “Mego” on Aveņu Street will be moved to the premises on Aveņu Street 26.

The vaccination point “Solo centrs” in Cēsis will also operate without changes, but from October 13 it will work every day from 9 am to 8 pm. , but in Jēkabpils vaccination point “Sēlija” will work as before.

Residents will be able to go vaccination to additional vaccination points, which will open this week. From October 11, pots against Covid-19 will be available at Alūksne Culture Center, Jelgava, Zemgale Olympic Center, Ventspils Vaccination Center, Lielā Dzirnavu Street 14, Tukums Culture House and Sigulda Library. At all new vaccination points, Covid-19 vaccine will be available by appointment or live.

This week, three vaccination points will be opened in Riga, as well as vaccination centers in Bauska, Aizkraukle, Jūrmala, Daugavpils, Madona, Valmiera, Talsi and elsewhere will start operating during the week.

Information about vaccination in the newly established vaccination centers will be available to the population starting on Wednesday, October 13. If necessary, mobile vaccination points will be set up elsewhere.

At the same time, as of October 1, all GPs have been involved in the vaccination process against Covid-19. There are two forms of involvement of family doctors – vaccination in their practice or sent for vaccination to vaccination rooms in medical institutions with which the specific practice of a family doctor cooperates.

Vaccination services can be received in many medical institutions in Latvia by calling the specific institution. In total, there are more than 910 vaccination offices throughout Latvia.

Out-of-line vaccination will also be continued in populated areas with low vaccination coverage against Covid-19 and the population will have to cover a relatively long distance to a GP practice or vaccination point, as well as senior vaccination at home, GP practices and medical institutions throughout Latvia. From October 15, field vaccination will start in Riga – in 50 places in 38 neighborhoods – which will be implemented by three specially adapted buses. Vaccination will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Detailed information will follow in the coming days.
