Fntastic, the developer of The Day Before, has issued a statement regarding trademark claims against their YouTube videos.

The statement was posted on the company’s official Twitter account 12th of February. In the statement, the company provides some additional information about when trademark infringement complaints were made on the company’s videos and what its plans are for the future.

3 facts: 1) The so-called “owner” of the rights to the title is the creator of the calendar app, which has nothing to do with the games category. 2) After we announced the game in 2021, he also wanted to own the title and applied for trademarks before us. 3) He ambiguously offers to contact him to discuss something, but what?” the statement read. “We will fight. Power is in the truth”.

At least one of the YouTube videos in question was linked to a response to a tweet containing this statement, and indeed leads to a video that is currently unavailable due to third party trademark claims. This video appears to be either a recent gameplay premiere or some other more recent promotional material, though which of the two remains unclear. Why it became unavailable while other videos related to the game remained on the channel is also unclear.

The announcement comes after weeks of speculation over the game and whether it is a real game in development. Several strange circumstances, including a sudden trademark dispute right before the game’s release date and evidence that elements used in the trailers were taken from other games, led many to doubt that The Day Before was a real product.

Regardless, The Day Before is scheduled to release on November 10, 2023 on PC.
