Doctors continue to see patients despite hunger strike

Due to unqualified management, the hospital earns more than half what it spends, the NHSU says.

Problems with the payment of salaries in the Sosnovskaya city hospital of the Lviv region arose because of the “inability of the institution to properly manage the funds.” So they commented on the situation with the debt to doctors UP at the National Health Service.

The hospital reportedly received UAH 1.7 million from April to July. In most cases, these were payments for consultations of narrow specialists.

At the same time, the hospital requires covid payments, but the NHSU says that the medical facility cannot provide such assistance.

It is also reported that the hospital receives a subvention – 658 thousand hryvnia per month.

The NSZU argues that the cost of salaries in the hospital is twice the income for the services provided to patients. The hospital receives more than 400,000 hryvnia per month, and spends 824,000 on the salaries of doctors, which is 76.8% of all hospital expenses.

Also, the institution cannot conclude an agreement with the NSZU for a stationary package. Since the hospital has neither the equipment nor the specialists for such work.

“In total, the hospital employs 83 people. The average monthly labor costs per employee are UAH 8,861. Of these, 19 doctors, whose salaries are 7500 hryvnias, 32 people are nurses, on average 9100 should be spent on them. the institution employs 13 junior medical personnel. The cost of their salaries is 6300. Two managers, according to the estimates of the NHSU, receive UAH 26,600. Also, the hospital employs 19 workers from the Other category and 8 heads of structural divisions. The costs of the former are 8600, the second – 11 200 “, – reported in the NSZU.

“The hospital changed managers, but they did not show sufficient managerial ability to choose a development strategy, draw up a realistic financial plan and bring the hospital out of the crisis. The institution did not analyze the real need for medical services of the region’s residents, did not determine the structure of these services, their number. Accordingly, we could not decide what is advisable to develop and where to invest money, “the National Health Service said.

Note ourselves hospital workers on hunger strike require an audit of the financial activities of the hospital. They are sure that the institution was brought to such a state by ineffective use of money.
