Taking care of health in 2020 was supposed to be a new fashion, a main responsibility for everyone. But not everyone is good at coping. The authorities increasingly have to resort to coercive measures to protect people from the coronavirus. They are not planning to lock anyone at home yet (as it was in the spring), but the same masks and gloves have not left our lives without fail. The number of cases, alas, continues to grow. Against this background, in Spain the situation even reached the point of absurdity.
In the region of Castilla y Leon, there is a rule that prohibits sports in enclosed spaces without masks. The guys from the handball clubs “Ademar Leon” and “Sinfin” demonstrated how it looks. We found out about it the day before the game. I had to agree with the rule, but the doctors and coaches of both clubs were shocked. After all, masks block the full access of oxygen to the lungs.
None of the players understood why they needed protective equipment. After the starting whistle, they lowered the masks to their chin, because they could not fully breathe. There were moments when the judges asked to return them to their place, but this did not last long. The situation was complicated by the resin (such as mastic) on the hands of the players, which is used in handball so that the ball does not slip out of the palms. This irritated and irritated the handball players, making it difficult to concentrate on the game.
After the match, indignation reached the limit. Many felt bad. The players immediately announced that they would not participate in such an experiment a second time.

The leadership of the Spanish league has contacted the authorities of the region to somehow revise this rule. Moreover, the idea of the authorities in Castile and Lyon turned out to be a failure.
The Ademar Leon club was supposed to fly to Moscow on October 20 for the match with the Chekhov Bears in the Europa League. The meeting had to be postponed indefinitely due to cases of coronavirus infection in the Spaniards. The team has been sent to quarantine, the sick are doing well. It turns out that the handball players were not in vain. The masks did not protect against the virus, but the load on the lungs was distant. Yes, and enough nerves.
