Minister of the Interior and head of the Elders and Independents Vít Rakušan started a series of debates across the Czech Republic, where he wants to discuss with the people what is important to them. In his own words, “without censorship, political tactics and unnecessary compromises”. He started in the Moravian-Silesian region, specifically in Karviná, where he was met with swearing and shouting from the locals. However, the deputy prime minister withstood the heated debate and proved that he has a good grasp of marketing. But who is he really targeting with his tour? To the people in the parts of the republic where the STAN movement has not been doing very well in the long term, or to their former liberal voters who are dissatisfied with the communication of the government coalition? And will the Austrian manage to maintain open communication with Prime Minister Petr Fiala? Ondřej Kundra answers in Výtah Respekt.
