Austrian skier Marco Schwarz became the winner of the giant slalom of the World Cup for the first time in his career. In the American resort of Palisades Tahoe on Sunday night, he beat the leader of the overall ranking and the discipline Marc Odermatt from Switzerland by three hundredths of a second. Norwegian Rasmus Windingstad finished third with a deficit of +0.36.
The bronze medalist from “Obrák” at the recent WC in France was in third place after the 1st round, but he finally climbed to the highest level during his 17th career podium appearance. “Amazing. It was a big fight today, especially the second lap. I made a small mistake on the flat, so I went aggressive after that.
