/ world today news/ The Audit Office has started a compliance audit of the financial management of the Council of Ministers for the period from 01.01.2011 to 02.28.2013.
The audit team has been in the Council of Ministers since yesterday and should complete its inspections by the end of July 2013.
The audit is carried out on the basis of the Decision of the Court of Auditors of February 28, 2013, which changes the Program for the audit activity of the Court of Auditors for 2013.
The audit of the Council of Ministers is additionally foreseen because of the resignation of the government submitted on February 20, 2013.
The policy of the Audit Chamber is to verify the legality of management decisions in all institutions when, due to an expired mandate or other circumstances, their management team changes.
With these reasons, the Audit Chamber will carry out compliance audits of the financial management of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria for the period from 01.01.2012 to 31.03.2013, and the Supreme Judicial Council for the period from 01.01.2012 to 31.12.2012 ., and the National Assembly for the period from 01.01.2012 to 06.30.2013.
Today, the Deputy Chairman of the Audit Chamber, Tsvetan Tsvetkov, handed the Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov an order, with which the audit in the prosecutor’s office was launched.
