“Auctioneers, story couriers” is the theme for the next series of the show. Great reports on TF1 which will air in four episodes on October 17-24 and 31 and November 7, 2021.
And the chain came to set up its cameras in Chartres (Eure-et-Loir) to follow Elsa Gody-Baubau in particular on the occasion of two emblematic sales, that of collectible dolls and that of legendary motorcycles, in March and September. .
500 auctioneers in France
Three journalists have teamed up for this series of four sixty-minute reports from the show Great reports to 4.5 million viewers; Caroline Nogueras, Loraine Canayer and Auriane Baudin.
The latter goes back to the genesis of the chosen theme:
There are around 500 auctioneers in France who see millions of objects pass each year, all of which tell so many stories. In Chartres we followed Elsa Gody-Baubau for two very distinct files, the sale of collectible dolls and that of motorcycles.
With the sale of the dolls, shot on March 27, 2021, Me Elsa Gody-Baubau is alongside Me Jean-Pierre Lelièvre who handed him over.
Opportunity to follow the journey of a seller who separates from his mother’s collection and to focus especially on the unidentified story of a doll.
The team goes to SOS Sick Doll in Chartres, which brings old toys back to life “and we were able to discover that it came from the Joany factory and that it was rather rare” recalls Auriane Baudin.
For the sale of legendary motorcycles in September, the film crew returned especially to the collection of Michel Haricot.
An object, a story
With the confinement, auctions have experienced an unprecedented boom with live performances which now represent more than 80% of transactions.
The auction rooms are discovering a new audience that gets caught up in the game and sometimes achieves very good deals.
Objects which have been in families for decades and which sometimes have an exceptional history are changing hands and auctioneers are intermediaries between these sellers and these buyers, whether occasional or seasoned.

- Mathilde Vauprès (Granville) for an impressive militaria sale.
- Alexandre gicquello (Paris – Drouot) for the sale of a dinosaur 10 meters long.
- Christophe Lucien (Paris) for a “Paris mon amour” sale around Parisian furniture.
- The auction house Artcurial and Stephane Aubert for the succession of the great couturier Kenzo.
- The House Christie’s for a sale of prestigious paintings (Soulage, Picasso, etc.).
- Mickael Ganne and Julie carpentier for sale in Switzerland of a Burgundy Grand Cru.
