Darmstadt (ots) – A patrol from the Second Police Station intended to subject the driver of a Ford Focus car with an external registration number to a general traffic control in downtown Darmstadt on Tuesday morning (January 5th) at 00:59. However, the Ford driver disregarded the stop signs in Liebigstrasse and tried to escape with his vehicle. However, the patrol of the second police station was able to catch up with the volatile vehicle and stop the driver in the Pallaswiesenstrasse area. The reason for the attempt to escape was quickly determined because the 37-year-old man from Darmstadt drove his vehicle with over 1 per mille and, in addition, did not have a required driving license, but was in possession of a small amount of narcotics. In the end, the man from Darmstadt was arrested for the purpose of taking a blood sample and charged accordingly. Following the criminal procedural measures, the 37-year-old will be able to leave the police station.
